This book gives a complete overview of all the furniture in the Northern provinces of the Netherlands from the Renaissance till the Baroque; the time in which the production of furniture in the Netherlands was very varied. Together with a description of the social-economical relations and structures in Dutch 17th century daily life, this book gives an insight into the making of furniture as handicraft, the different species of wood and the different techniques and styles used. The text is richly illustrated with full colour photographs of furniture, many of which come from private collections and have never been published before. Together with an art historian we have combined our specific knowledge, our years of experience and above all, our love for Dutch furniture in this book. A complete, unique and extensive reference book on Dutch furniture from Renaissance to Baroque!

GOLDEN
Eijk and Rose-Marie de Mol van Otterloo have built an exeptionally beautiful collection of paintings together with furniture and decorative arts of the Dutch Golden Age. Both collections belong to the same private collectors, and are composed of masterpieces from artists such as Hendrick Avercamp, Albert Cuyp, Gerard Dou, Paulus Potter, Frans Hals, Rembrandt and many other famous master painters. This unique combination of never-exhibited-before furniture and paintings will bring the interior of a wealthy Dutch seventeenth century merchant to life.

To commemorate this remarkable exhibition there is an extensive catalogue, about the paintings, the furniture and the decorative arts with many pictures. Van Aalst Antiques is honored to have composed and written this latter part of the catalogue released by Yale University Press.

In 2011 was this exposition in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem (Massachusetts), which is the oldest museum in the United States. Later on that year the exhibition was in the museum The Legion of Honor in San Francisco and after that it was in the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Some publications concerning the GOLDEN exposition :
